Good design is not only for the upper echelon of society and for the support of sometimes superfluous needs. Design, innovation and engineering can transcend the social order and attempt to tackle global issues with creative wit. In my presentation, "Designing Solutions," we will see evidence of how the designer, in collaboration with the entrepreneurial spirit and sometimes fueled by hunger, often is a match for any big shot CEO and a starting point to solving issues of pollution, medicine and basic human needs.
